What days/times are sessions scheduled?
Typically, clients book their appointment 1-2 months in advance, and sessions are scheduled at a mutually convenient day and time. For the most beautiful light, I like to schedule sessions approximately 3-4 hours before sunset, or after sunrise for the early birds. With little ones, I know this can be a challenge, so I am flexible with times but I want to ensure my clients understand the ideal time for their session so they can have the most beautiful images!
Which locations do you serve?
Walworth County (and beyond): Lake Geneva, Delavan, Elkhorn, Williams Bay, Fontana, Walworth, East Troy, Darien, Whitewater, Janesville, Milton, and Beloit.
I always suggest choosing a location that’s meaningful to you. Sessions can take place at your home, a nearby park, arboretum, or we can meet at one of the area's beautiful public gardens, recreation paths, or trail systems. There are so many stunning places in Southern Wisconsin that would make a great backdrop for any session. Please let me know if you would like location recommendations; I'm happy to help!
An additional travel fee will be applied for locations 30 miles or more beyond my home studio.
What's included in my portrait session?
One ~90 minute long session for couples and family portraits, an experience guide (to help you prep for your sessions), and location recommendations, upon request. You will receive 45+ fully edited images.
Mini Sessions are 20 minutes long, and include 20 fully edited images. These are typically held on pre-scheduled dates in the Spring and Fall. I accept couples and families for these sessions.
When is payment due?
A deposit of 50% is due at the time of booking. The remaining balance is due in full 30 days after booking your session or event, and 30 days in advance of a wedding or elopement date.
I accept all major credit cards for payment and also accept Venmo and Zelle, which are my preferred methods of payment. Please note that I do not accept checks or cash.
What should I wear for my session?
Your outfit choice can greatly influence your session's outcome and overall experience. For that reason I want you to look your best and I'm here to offer suggestions and provide guidance. I will work with you to select outfits that will enhance the overall look of your images.
Generally, light and neutral colors work best with my style. However, depending on the location and time of year, bright and vibrant colors play well, too! We can work together to make the best selections for your session.
Editing Process
Post-processing is part of my workflow; all of the images you will receive are professionally edited by me to ensure the highest quality and consistency. I use Lightroom, primarily adjusting color and composition, and occasionally do heavier retouching on areas of concern.
Most of your photos will be in full color, with a select few in black/white, as I see artistically fit.
When will I receive my images?
I am honestly just as excited as you are to see your images, so I aim to work quickly to get you your photos!
After your session (within 30 days, but often sooner!), you will receive 45+ images (10 images for Mini Sessions) delivered via online gallery, which will be active for 30 days from date of delivery.
Your gallery will include digital image downloading, so that you can save your images to your computer and/or cloud storage (recommended). You will also receive a print release for all images.
Can I order prints? How?
Yes! (And you absolutely should!) Your online gallery features a download option for you to save your photos digitally, and there is also an integrated online store, with a variety of prints, wall art, cards, and more that can be ordered directly from your gallery. All items are sourced from a professional print lab to ensure the same level of excellence and attention to detail as your photos.
Your online gallery can also be shared with loved ones, to view and download photos, and/or order prints from.
Wedding Policy
I accept a limited number of elopements and weddings each year. Preference will be given to outdoor events.
Please note that I do not hire additional photographers for weddings (it's just me!), so the maximum guest count I can comfortably and fairly provide coverage for is ~100 people. For this reason, I kindly request intimate wedding inquiries only please. Wedding clients will received an Engagement Portrait Session, as well.
Additional coverage may be added at the rate of $450/hr. Travel fees apply outside of 30 miles from my home studio; overnight accommodations may also apply.
